And of course, you need a good rise with your baked goods, so the name combines the two,” explained Kivi. “We are both rabble rousers in many ways who like stirring up good trouble. The two came up with the name “Rabble and Rise” to reflect their personalities and their yeast baking. “I love baking because it is so creative and makes other people happy,” said Jianna, “and earning spending money for my trips is a great outcome too.” Jianna will be traveling to Ireland this fall on a trip through Davidson-Davie Community College, where she is a junior at Davidson Early College High School. And if it doesn’t sell out, we do bring it home and eat it.”Īlthough the new business isn’t explicitly about raising money to travel, the mother-daughter team does enjoy traveling and will likely use some of their profits for new adventures. “But one of our rules is that we only bring recipes to the market that we really do like. “I personally love having an outlet for our baking habit, so we don’t have to eat it all ourselves,” said Kivi. “We are continuing to bake the same kinds of breads as we did with Grow and Go Girls,” said Kivi Leroux Miller, “but we are also changing up things too.” Kivi and Jianna both love trying new recipes, both sweet and savory. With that goal achieved, Grow and Go Girls has closed down as an entrepreneurial project and Rabble and Rise was born. That baking business raised money to send seven people on a week-long adventure to Belize earlier this summer. If you shop at the Lexington Farmers Market, you may recognize the two as part of the Grow and Go Girls, which operated at the farmers market from May 2017 through June 2022. Kivi Leroux Miller and her 16-year-old daughter Jianna love to bake – so much so that they’ve turned their hobby into a family business called Rabble and Rise Baking Company.
